Julia Morgan Estate & Garden Tours

The Great Room at Julia Morgans Historic Redwood Grove | Discover Southern Humboldt Weddings and Events.jpg

Experience the spiritual effects of the historic "Great Room”, the natural vibrancy of the water and lush landscaping, and the grandeur of the redwoods on this spectacular estate.

Designed by renowned American architect Julia Morgan — most famous for her design of Hearst Castle in San Simeon — Julia Morgan’s Redwood Grove features a distinctive Northern California brand of Arts and Crafts architecture. San Francisco hotel heiress, Margaret Stewart, commissioned Morgan to build this country estate which was completed in 1926 and today is known as Redwood Grove.

The tour consists of early history for the local area, Julia Morgan's life and connection to the property, and the changes to the estate over time. Your guided tour through the gardens and the interiors of buildings will open your heart to the romance that embraces the history. The vision to architecturally restore the property while maintaining the historical integrity of the manor is also revealed. Tours are $20 per person by reservation only to visit this privately owned estate. Other special events held throughout the year are priced separately.
