One of Shelter Cove’s best wildlife watching spots, Seal Rock Picnic Area is a small park perched atop a grassy bluff where visitors can view harbor seals and sea lions from a safe distance as they lounge on the rocks below. Part of the Kings Range National Conservation Area, it’s also an excellent vantage point for watching gray whales during their migration season September-January and March-June.
